Jabba & Jojo
Calm blog about slow living and everyday life in Greece seen through the eyes of two pugs.
We’re bored. We're pugs.
And doubly bored — because there are two of us.
The sun continues to shine over Greece, the sea is calm, Mum is drinking her coffee for far too long, Dad is off to the beach again (who even swims in December?), and the two of us… we are bored.
So we think.
We sleep.
We lounge.
We watch the world pass by.
And that’s how the idea for this blog came about.
Since we’re already here — on the Peloponnese, for a while or maybe longer — since the world has slowed down and we suddenly have the time… we thought:
why not start telling stories about how all of this looks from our point of view?
That’s us: Jabba & Jojo
Jabba here.
I’m the younger one. Beige. Very social. Scatterbrain.
I love cuddles, emotion, being happy for absolutely no reason, spinning little pirouettes and believing that everything will somehow work out in the end.
Mum says I remind her of Piglet. I personally think I’m more of a princess. A pink one, obviously.
Jojo is lying next to me.
He’s older, black, and always looks like he’s seen it all before.
He is not easily impressed. Even fewer things surprise him.
And almost nothing makes him hurry.
He observes the world calmly, from a distance.
If he could sum things up, he’d probably say:
“What’s all the fuss about?”
And we both love food.
A lot.
Why this blog?
Because the world looks different from down here.
More intense. Sometimes harder. Often funnier. Closer to the ground.
There’s less rush.
More small things.
More unexpected moments.
More smells.
More conversations.
More gestures.
More silence.
This blog is our collection of everyday notes about life:
about Greece, Poland, The Netherlands and England — the places we’ve lived so far
about people and dogs (and now, in Greece, also cats)
about travel, change and starting over
about sadness that can be softened — even if it sometimes feels impossible
and about the joys that are often tiny, overlooked, and yet essential
There will be no lecturing here.
We won’t tell anyone how to live their lives.
We will simply share what we see and how it feels for us.
And Mum and Dad?
They are here.
Sometimes in the background. Sometimes very close.
Mum writes. She’s the one who drives our journeys and loves us unconditionally.
Dad makes coffee, swims, fools around and attempts to learn Greek.
And we make sure no one forgets about walks, meals and cuddles.
With a strong emphasis on meals, of course.
